Die Reihe steht am Ende einer langen Entwicklung, welche mit der Ur-VITO ihren Lauf genommen hat. Die Ur-VITO (rechts) war die erste Kleinbildkamera aus dem Hause Voigtl\u00e4nder und wurde kurz vor Kriegsausbruch auf der Leipziger Herbstmesse 1939 vorgestellt und deren Produktion kriegsbedingt wieder schell eingestellt. Viele \u00e4u\u00dferliche Erkennungsmerkmale, wie beispielsweise die kuriose Filmklappe, wurden beibehalten. Ebenso ungew\u00f6hnlich ist der Bildz\u00e4hler auf der Unterseite oder die Einstellung der Filmempfindlichkeit am Objektiv. Wie bei anderen Kameraherstellern auch, sind die Modellvarianten vielf\u00e4ltig und auf den ersten Blick un\u00fcbersichtlich. So muss man bereits bei der Vitomatic I und dem Nachfolger Ia unterscheiden, besitzt doch Letztere bereits eine Einspiegelung des Belichtungsmessers in den Sucher. Gr\u00f6\u00dfere Unterschiede ergeben sich unter den Modellen I und II, denn dabei handelt es sich nicht wie schnell angenommen einfach um das Nachfolgemodell. Bei der \u201eI\u201c handelt es sich um reine Sucher-, bei der \u201eII\u201c aber um Messsucherkameras. Ab 1964 kam die optisch wie technisch \u00fcberarbeite \u201eb-Serie\u201c auf den Markt. Beispielsweise ver\u00e4nderte der Ausl\u00f6ser seine Position von oben nach Vorne. Der Bildz\u00e4hler wurde verbessert, ein \u201eHot Shoe\u201c verwendet und der Belichtungsmesser nun generell eingespiegelt. 1966 kam die letzte Generation der Reihe auf den Markt. Diese unterscheidet sich unwesentlich von der vorangegangenen \u201eb\u201c-Serie, verwendet aber statt der Selenzellen, welche heutzutage durch Alter und Feuchtigkeit nicht mehr alle funktionieren, nun eine CDS-Belichtungsmessung. Die Kameras ben\u00f6tigen daher zu Zwecken der Belichtungsmessung nun eine Batterie.<strong> <\/strong>Neben der Vito und Vitomatic erschien noch die Reihe der Vitoret. Dabei handelt es sich aber um eine abgesteckte Einsteigerkamera ausgestattet mit einem einfachen Lanthar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1. Generation: I (Sucher) und II (Me\u00dfsucher) ohne Einspiegelung<\/li><li>2. Generation: Ia und IIa mit Einspiegelung in den Sucher<\/li><li>3. Generation: Ib, IIb und IIb &#8211; neues Design und diverse Ver\u00e4nderungen<\/li><li>4. Generation: ICS, IICS und IIICS &#8211; wie Serie \u201eb\u201c, allerdings mit CDS-Belichtungsmessung<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Die heute (noch) sehr g\u00fcnstigen Modelle verf\u00fcgen in der Regel \u00fcber ein Color-Skopar 1:2,8\/50. Dabei handelt es sich bereits um einen Vierlinser mit langer Tradition und gutem Ruf. Modelle mit dem sechslinsigen Spitzenobjektiv ULTRON werden deutlich h\u00f6her gehandelt. Bei dem gezeigten Modell handelt es sich um das sp\u00e4te Modell einer Vitomatic IIa mit ULTRON f2.0 50mm, welche zwischen 1961-63 gebaut wurden. In dieser Ausstattung kostete die Kamera seinerzeit etwa 439 DM. Trotz ihrer kompakten Baugr\u00f6\u00dfe wiegt die Kamera in dieser Kombination fast 780 Gramm. Als sp\u00e4tes Modell hier ohne Trageriemenhalter und mit einem Prontor 500 SLK-V Zentralverschluss. Das Objektiv wurde von Albrecht Wilhelm Tronnier f\u00fcr Voigtl\u00e4nder berechnet. Tronnier war ein bedeutender deutscher Konstrukteur von Optiken, unter dessen Leitung unter anderem namhafte Objektive wie das XENAR, XENON oder NOKTON entstanden. Das ULTRON, eine Weiterentwicklung vom XENON, ist bekannt daf\u00fcr schon offenblendig sehr scharf zu zeichnen. In seiner Abbildungsleistung war es den Filmemulsionen seiner Zeit bereits \u00fcberlegen. In der Nachfolge erschien das ULTRON noch abgewandelt unter Carl Zeiss und Rollei. Kuriosum bleibt die konkave Frontlinse der zweiten Generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1. Generation: Ultron von Voigtl\u00e4nder ohne konkav gekr\u00fcmmtes Frontelement<\/li><li>2. Generation: Ultron von Carl Zeiss mit gekr\u00fcmmten konkaven Frontelement<\/li><li>3. Generation: Color Ultron von \u201eVoigtl\u00e4nder\u201c (Rollei) mit weniger gekr\u00fcmmten konkaven Frontelement. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Wie auch bei der VITO B wird der Verschluss nicht \u00fcber den Spannhebel gespannt. Dies geschieht \u00fcber die von der Filmperforation angetriebene Mittelwalze im Innern der Kamera. Sollte dies als m\u00f6glicher \u201eDefekt\u201c deklariert sein, sollte man wissen, dass eine funktionsf\u00e4hige Kamera ohne Film gar nicht ausl\u00f6sen kann. Dabei handelt es sich um einen 1:1 Sucher mit Kristall-Leuchtrahmen. In der Praxis bedeutet dies, dass beim fotografieren beide Augen offen bleiben k\u00f6nnen und man einen guten \u00dcberblick \u00fcber das Umfeld und Geschehen beh\u00e4lt. So m\u00fcssen im Sucher nur beide Zeiger in \u00dcbereinstimmung gebracht werden um das Foto korrekt zu belichten.
