Juni 1963 anl\u00e4sslich des Jahrestages zur Berliner Luftbr\u00fccke das geteilte Berlin. Im offenen Cabrio fahren der amerikanische Pr\u00e4sident John F. Kennedy, Willy Brandt und Konrad Adenauer durch WEST-Berlin. Sein Rede mit den Schlussworten &#8222;Ich bin ein Berliner!&#8220; geht in das kollektive Ged\u00e4chtnis und in die Geschichte ein. Wenige Monate sp\u00e4ter, am 22. November desselben Jahres f\u00e4hrt Kennedy wieder volksnah und im Bad der Menge im offenen Cabrio auf Wahlkampfreise durch eine Stadt. Durch das Schiebedach ist die amerikanische Flagge gehisst. Dieses ungew\u00f6hnliche Gef\u00e4hrt mit einer Einstiegsluke &#8222;vorne&#8220; wurde in den Ernst Heinkel Werken hergestellt. Heinkel war in Kriegszeiten nicht unbedingt ein Hersteller von Fahrzeugen. Dort wurden neben Kriegsflugzeugen unter einem Hans Joachim Pabst von Ohain, auch das erste Flugzeug mit Strahltriebwerk entwickelt.
